Comments
Comments: Nice day to be in the Whites. A bit windy and cold on top but warming up in the Lake of the Clouds hut with a cup of coffee and one of those molasses cakes hit the spot. Only $3 for the treat. Its worth the hike alone just for the coffee break. Also bought a long-sleeve fleece which was nice on that frigid, wind-chilled mountain trail. The only part of the hike that was unmemorable was the crowds on top of Washington. But they were all having a good time so there's that. Those trains were cool but they should be retro-fitted to run on DC with regenerative braking/recharging. That would be more 21st century. Tons of valuable timber laying along the tracks...seems like they would fetch a good salvage value given the ridiculous lumber prices.
