| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Got a late start and about 2 dozen cars were already parked along the 112 @ 10AM. Only 8 remaining at 3:15PM. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All easy step overs |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of erosion on by-passes around steep rock sections of Pine Bend brook trail. Steep rocky sections are difficult, so several by passes make travel much easier, but the level of erosion is significant and the trails need a little care. Partly also due to the heavy foot traffic. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Cooper had fun. Met a few other happy pups. |
| Bugs: |
Not bad, but had sprayed repellent everywhere and all gear was sprayed w/Sawyers, including Coop's vest. |

| Comments: |
Lots of people on the trail, must have been 2 dozen people at the Middle summit @ 12:45PM, didn't spend much time there. See above regarding erosion in steep sections of Pine Bend Brook. Flatter trail between the steep parts approaching he North Peak was really nice. The real treat were the drifts of ferns and patches of Blue Bead lilies, Canada mayflowers or Bunch berries, really nice to see under the canopy of trees. Vistas between trees of the distant peaks. Lower trail had patches of lady slippers. |
