| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking. There were two cars at 5:45 am, that probably belonged to campers who we met coming down. Two cars on our return at 3:30 pm. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
There were six larger water crossings on Isolation Trail and were rock hoppable. Poles were helpful. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |

|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
We saw one dog who was working on manners. |
|
| Bugs: |
The bugs are out, but not too many biting today. Mostly they found us on the summit when we stopped moving and the last 2 miles out. Considering how much water is on the trail, we expected the bugs to be horrendous. |

| Comments: |
These trails to Isolation were very rocky and had lots of running water in sections. Mud was plentiful but with care, it wouldn't go over your boot tops! Other stretches were easy and dry. I wouldn't consider this a difficult trail when it comes to steepness as it was a fairly gentle incline. However, the length is difficult and the rocks underfoot take their toll on the body. Number 39 and 43 for us older hikers. We saw about 20 people and one dog today. |
