Water Crossing Notes:
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Tuckerman was closed from Hermit Lake to Alpine Garden due to deteriorating snow on the headwall and falling ice.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw one all day. Honestly, the rocks can be tough on their pads so I’d only take dogs who’ve done it before.
Bugs
Bugs: Not bad at all. There were black flies just above tree line on Boott Spur (surprisingly nothing until then) that lasted a little ways. Then we didn’t see another bug (other than tons of spiders) until near Hermit Lake. Then we had black flies again for maybe a half mile to mile and then they went away again.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None, but more litter than I like to see.

Comments
Comments: What a day to be above tree line! The weather was near perfect! We were a little surprised there weren’t more people out today. We decided to do a ring around the rim of Tuckerman. Made our way down from Lion Head to Hermit Lake with Ken (?) and his hiking partner whose name we never caught. Great conversation and it turned out they did the same route! (Drop us an e-mail if you read this.)
