Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in great shape. Many fresh axe chips where trees have been cleared from the trails. There is some pretty severe erosion getting going coming down off Field and headed out to Willey.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: no dogs today.
Bugs: Not bad at all. Bothersome when stopped, and they are biting. Repellent didn't last long in this morning's liquid environment.

Comments: Great hike with varied conditions. It was outrageously humid and warm at the start and the clouds were low and in your face. I was so wet I didn't even realize it was raining. Just for a bit. I rested on the Avalon outlook with clouds swirling around and zero visability, but as the morning wore on the views opened up. Not much breeze and it stayed warm and a tad less humid. I shared Avalon with someone taking a morning run, but so no others until after crossing Field again on the way to Tom. Met 7 hikers. Great day to be out there.
