Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A few minor rock hops across streams and puddles. Only one small patch of snow between Adams and Jefferson that is easily traversed with just trekking poles.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There seems to have been recent maintenance on Valley Way that hasn't been cleaned up yet. Several fallen trees had been sawn through but the debris hasn't been removed.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few cute adventure pups!
Bugs: Not bad at all. Minor mosquitoes and black flies below tree line.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found:
Comments: Hiked up to the Valley Way tent site 6/4 and spent the night there; the site was not completely full. Did Madison, Adams, Jefferson, and Washington 6/5. Extremely windy for most of the hike, gusts were up to 60 mph at the summits and probably averaged 20-30 the entire way above tree line. Trails are in good condition (when they are trails, that is, not just rock scrambles!). Took the cog rail down after reaching the Washington summit as a member of our group blew out his boot.
