Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Twin Brook, Champney Brook (twice). Very easy to cross, lots of rocks to walk on and water wasn’t high
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One blowdown on Champney Falls Trail prior to reaching the loop and another blowdown after the loop but before the cutoff. Both were easily navigated by stepping over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few tired dogs
Bugs
Bugs: Plenty! Mostly mosquitoes and gnats. A few hornets on summit of Chocorua, but I had no issue with them because the other bugs were so relentless. We didn’t hang around for long at any stops.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Saw a black, very warn shirt hanging on a tree limb on Champney Falls trail between the loop and the cutoff. Also saw a bandana hanging on a tree at the cutoff.

Comments
Comments: Loved this hike. Didn’t find it too difficult, but the rocky trail seemed to get rockier during our descent. It was a beautiful day, clear day, and the views were magnificent. If not for the bugs, it would have been perfect. We had a great time.
