I parked in the hikers' parking area at the Cannon Mtn. ski tramway; the lot was pretty much empty on the Wed. after Mem. Day. |

no significant water crossings on this route, and water levels were low |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Greenleaf Trail could use some light brushing on the lower mile or two, but otherwise it is in excellent condition. Pemi is almost overgrown in places. |

Several happy but tiring dogs at various points on Old Bridle and upper Greenleaf trails. |

I originally intended to go up and down via Greenleaf but switched to Old Bridle for the descent, as Greenleaf was steeper and rockier than anticipated. Old Bridle has its own steep and rocky sections, however, and I don't think I saved any effort by walking the extra 2+ miles. I followed the Pemi only around the west side of Profile Lake; otherwise the bike path was more pleasant (despite significant uphill) after walking on rocks for much of the day. The Greenleaf hut was closed, except for the bathrooms, as renovations of some sort seemed to be underway (water was available). |
