Trail Maintenance Notes: No issues to report.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any.
Bugs
Bugs: Flies were annoying when I tried to stop for lunch. A bug net was very handy - though no matter how often I wear one I will never remember to pull up the front when taking a drink or stuffing food in my mouth.

Comments: Happy New Year!!

I guess I get to say that since mine was the first entry in the register for 2021** :)

Tunnel Brook Trail was a delight: easy grade, easy to follow and easy on the feet. I broke off around 2200' to slot myself onto the S/SE ridge with a few pre-planned bearings. The whack part was no trouble: mostly open-ish woods with good sight lines. During the entire off-trail segment I encountered only a couple of very brief clusters of moderate thickness. About half way up the slope I started to follow some game trails heading in my general direction so that was a bonus. Higher up there were some blowdown patches but nothing too severe - in fact I found a nice place to sit for lunch while gazing at a unique view of Moosilauke. Register was easy to find - last entry was in November.**

** Yeah, I know: maybe someone visited the peak in winter and the cannister was frozen shut - or maybe someone just opted to not sign in. Still, I would have thought someone would have left their mark this year (?)
