Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Everything was either an actual bridge, or a very easy step over.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Some of the sign posts at junctions are confusing as they seem to not be 100% orientated in the right direction, bring your map and know where you're going! There were a few larger blow downs on the Point Trail and Pasture Trail but nothin to write home about. The Undercut trail's blazes lead you to the field behind a private residence and it takes some searching to figure out where to pick the trail back up on the other side. It looked like the trail continued through the woods, but the blazes lead you into the field.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Our Lab did just fine. Be aware that on the Rattlesnakes themselves there is really no water so as it heats up, bring some extra for pups.
Bugs
Bugs: Rain and cool temps kept them at bay early, but when it stopped, the mosquitoes came out in force. Bring the spray.

Comments
Comments: Redlined the entire Rattlesnakes area today to put me over 1/3 total! A few steep pitches combined with the rain and lots of leaf cover made some of the downhills sketchy, especially on the Ramsey, Pasture, and Col trails. Really pleasant walk in the woods though. Nice way to cap off an otherwise drab long weekend.
