The gate is closed until mid-June. We couldn't get a specific date for when it will reopen. There's parking for five to six vehicles on your left just after where South Pond Rd takes a sharp right, just before the gate. As there aren't any No Parking signs along that short stretch it is probably ok to park on the side of the road. |

A few blow-downs, look for the herd paths. The trail is easy to follow but the orange blazes are faded and often far apart. On our descent we found that someone had arrived after us and performed some trail maintenance. Thanks! |

We were welcomed by some loons on South Pond. The beach looks like a great spot for a post-hike picnic! |
