Comments
Comments: Trail had no snow or ice. Some muddy spots, but not enough to need high boots. Flat hike all the way to the hut and then steep for a bit before leveling off a while before the summit. Temps were 55 high, 40ish low at night. Skies cleared up during the day which made the view from the view spur just before Zealand summit beautiful. Others said they were clouded in earlier in the day. Zealand Hut was still closed, but sign said it was opening on June 3. Zealand summit is nothing special since it's a small cairn with full trees around. Camped out just south of the FPA on Ethan Pond Trail south of the Hut. Great site that must be used by lots of AT thru hikers. Great water source there and plenty of space.
