Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy rock hops or bridged
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This trail has had a thorough spring clean up. Thank you, maintainer!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Water sources in the first two miles. No water up higher or on the ridge. My dogs did ok with the scrambles on the ridge; one needed a push on two occasions.
Bugs
Bugs: No bugs! I think they were too cold today.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found: one pile of human feces just north of North summit. My dog offered to carry it out by eating it, but luckily it was frozen solid and she dropped it obediently. We left it where it was, so its owner can come back for it 🙄

Mt Kinsmen Trail, Kinsmen Ridge Trail

Dry trail. No snow. Nice trail! No ladders or crazy steep spots.

We stayed at the upper ledge for the vista on North. I wanted to descend to the lower one with the view of the pond, as I have memories of sitting there with my father when I was a young teen. Unfortunately, the herd path down to it would require hands (or lighter weight dogs) to get back up, so we stayed where we were.
