Strangely few. They were stirring when I arrived at 8 AM, then I had none until the summit of Hale, and then again none until returning to my truck at the Hale Brook trailhead lot. I expected few in the early morning cool air, but it was quite warm in the afternoon. |

Snow and ice are totally gone. Leave the spikes home. Zealand Hut is open for bathrooms and outside water. |
