Hiking Trail Conditions Report
Peaks
Peaks Mt. Carrigain, NH
Trails
Trails: Signal Ridge Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, May 22, 2021
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: About a dozen cars when I arrived before 8 am but easily triple that amount upon return at 1 pm. Lots of folks enjoying the hike.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail could use a mark at the junction of the trail and a skidder road that veers off to the left before one of the crossings. But all in all the trail is in great shape with no significant blow downs or washouts.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Many dogs and with the exception of one overly inbred, neurotic aussie they were all well behaved.
Bugs
Bugs: Worst spot was down low along the wettest portion of the trail but I didn't even notice any the rest of the way up and back. Could be the dry weather keeping their numbers down.

Comments
Comments: There's a spring on the upper section of the trail that is running strong right in the middle of the trail with ice cold water. Filled up on the way up and down--so refreshing. The summit platform was awesome and even though it was a cloudy day you could still see all the nearby peaks as well as Washington still covered in patchy snow.
