The trail was dry until the last half mile which was muddy/a bit of lasting snow. The last 0.2 to the peak gets steep and was very icy. We did not bring our spikes today but wished we had them for this stretch. The three stream crossings were easily rock hopped. Lots of people on the trail today. The bugs were bad for the first 2 miles (and the last 2 miles at the end) but bug spray helped and we kept moving. We did this with our 11 and 8 year old kids today and it was easy for them as it is gradual most of the way. We did it in 5 1/2 hours with a lunch stop.
