Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There's an old blowdown just off Sentinel going towards Flagg. It's a squeeze under that would benefit from more delimbing. A herd path might develop. Many portions of the trails could use brushing. I imagine owner approval is necessary for any work due to being on private land.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Seasonally buggy, which is to say there were lots of flying insects and crawling 8-leggers.

Comments
Comments: Out and back from Bents road. The trail bandit map and trail descriptions from nhfamily hikes dot com were very helpful for this hike.

Sentinel mountain trail was easy to follow, however you would have be careful to not take wrong turns at intersections if certain clues were hidden by snow. Glad this first visit wasn't in the Winter.

Starting at Sentinel connector trail the path started getting more obscure. The Canaan mountain trail in particular was very difficult to follow from just looking at the ground. God bless whoever painted the dark red blazes there as traces of a worn path are concealed by leaves. The blazes on Mt. Flagg trail aren't as fresh, but that trail is much more obvious.

Several areas could use brushing. Coming back down Mt. Flagg trail, the intersection with Canaan mountain trail is obscured by brush. However, once you're in the area you can see where to turn by looking for the shelter.

A bit hazy in late afternoon, but nice views nonetheless. No one seen except bugs.
