Comments
Comments: Beautiful spring hike on dry trail, with babbling brooks, singing birds and mountain flowers to enjoy. A few muddy spots and some short areas of lingering monorail were easily negotiated. Did not see any other hikers all day. Thought this would be an out and back, check the 4k box hike, but it was very enjoyable so we completed the longer loop. Glad we did, as the Horn and Unknown Pond were very worthwhile, even if they put a little more wear on the old knees. Most of the muddy spots were on the descent between the pond and trailhead. Boots stayed clean today, but that may change if it rains.
