 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
There is parking off the shoulder of the Kancamagus Highway for a few cars if using Forest Road 511. Do not block the gate. We encountered WMNF mowing down the trail and blocking the gate would not have been cool. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
We took WMNF Forest Road 511 to mitigate any potential issues with crossing Downes Brook. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail in good condition with frequent yellow blazes. There remains trees crossing the trail near the surface that are easy to step over. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw three dogs of all sizes, including a very small one, that were not having an issue. |
|
 | Bugs: |
There were some but thankfully a slight breeze kept them away. |

Beautiful almost summer like hike of this peak! The route started out relatively mellow and became quite a steep and rugged climb in the upper half, traveling through a variety of terrain. Summit offered excellent views from its mostly open summit, and from outlooks along the way including snowcapped Mt. Washington! It was nice crossing paths with a WMNF crew mowing down Forest Road 511 and a couple of others enjoying this stellar day. |
