Comments
Comments: The trail is dry and completely snow/ice free.

On the return, from the bump between north and middle, I bushwhacked down the southwest ridge over the bumps of Haystack Mountain and then followed the ridge back to the Moat trail. This was a very nice route with lots of off-trail views and ledges. The going was initially scrappy but quickly transitioned to well-spaced, mature hardwoods. Save for a few tiggy sections, the woods were not bad. I had to skirt some cliffs when climbing the highest bump on haystack and when dropping off of the ridge.
