 | Comments: |
Many nice viewpoints on both North and South Doublehead. One viewpoint on a side trail near the top of North Doublehead is marked by a small cairn. Cabin at the top of North Doublehead is in good condition and is locked.
I descended on the New Path that is reminiscent of the Hancock Loop Trail down South Hancock. It is steep with loose rock. It is probably better to ascend New Path and descend Old Path.
When I was walking the short distance down Dundee road from New Path to the parking lot I heard a rumble of thunder. There were dark clouds in the vicinity of the Doublehead peaks.
I met about half a dozen other hikers this morning. |
