 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Fourth or fifth car in lot at 7:15. Lot was full when I returned at 12:30 and cars were parked all along the road from the railroad station on down. Not a surprise on a beautiful Saturday. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow - Spring Snow, Snow/Ice - Postholes |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Was able to hop across Flume-Cascade Brook. This is the only significant crossing on the trail (I did not go to Webster so did not cross Silver Cascade). |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail to Jackson in good shape. A crew of trail adopters was training at the very beginning of the trail. I am not sure how far they got. Some of the bog bridges on Elephant Head Spur were in very bad shape; deteriorating wood and raised spikes. |

 | Comments: |
Some ice and an increasing monorail on middle part of Jackson branch. I opted for microspikes for much of the trail until the upper ledges, but that seemed to be a minority preference. Ledge scrambles are all snow free and dry. |
