| Water Crossing Notes: |
We checked out the water crossing of the Swift River first before starting this hike. We found an area we could cross that was not more than knee deep and since it was at the end of the hike, we didn't have to worry about being wet all day. It went as planned and was not bad at all in the right spot which was just a little bit upstream where the river is wider. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The section of Brunel between Rob Brook Road and Sawyer Pond Trail definitely could use some love. It's very clear it is not used often. There was a spot of several blowdowns where it was hard to find the trail once past them, but then we regained the footbed. Fortunately this section is only .6 long. |

| Bugs: |
Yep- they are out. We survived without bug spray, probably due to a light breeze, but the bugs are out in the whites. |

This was a delightful hike from start to finish. Didn't see another soul all day. We found the Mount Tremont trail easier than what we had a heard, but I think we were expecting the worst and it wasn't as bad as that for steepness. The views from the summit and Owl's Cliff were delightful. The descent off of Mount Tremont and Owl's Cliff going down Brunel trail are sketchy in places- very worn, steep, rough and we had to be careful not to slip. The most exciting part of our day was that we found our first canister on Owl's Cliff! Been wanting to find one for a while so it was so fun to find it. |
