Comments
Comments: Classic spring weather & trail conditions on Cabot today. Did this as an out & back as opposed to the loop hike. Water crossings were not a problem. Pockets of avoidable mud on Bunnell Notch trail. One Could bare-boot the entire hike however I put spikes on around 4.2 miles into the hike & wore all the way to the Summit. In between the cabin & summit the monorail is weaker and I did posthole once or twice. Nothing serious though as the sun was shining causing the snow to soften up a little bit. Trail conditions really did vary so be prepared for it all (dry, muddy, wet, monorail, snow). Quiet hike, I only saw two other hikers descending as I was headed up. Overall a really nice hike up to Cabot with varying trail conditions and weather.
