Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of exposed roots (especially on Basin + Brook tr end). Some branches and small spruce fallen into the trail (moved most of the big stuff).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: lots to drink along the way for pup. Several places were it seemed appropriate to help our dog up and down steep granite sections. Kinsman ridge tr was mostly rocky under paw. Not a good place for a soft paw. lol.

Bugs: Nice breeze kept the bugs at bay.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: We lost a dog boot somewhere around the last river crossing. It's red and you can have it if you find it.

Comments: N.+S. Kinsman w/overnight at kins. pond

A great backpacking trip. I think we will be hitting up the swimming holes along basin cas. tr as often as we can from now on.

Light rain overnight help keep things cool.
Good luck to the 2 through hikers we met on Kins. ridge.

Approx. 5.5mi each way.
