No other cars besides ours in the Reed road lot at 8:25 AM. One other vehicle at 1:05 PM. Plenty of space. Lot in good shape. |

Black flies were only an annoyance at the intersection adjacent to Anna. They were present in small numbers between Anna and S. Straightback. Otherwise, they were absent. It helped that it was cool in the morning and there was a light breeze. Descending Reed road trail, a hiker said he had alread collected four ticks. We didn't find any. Besides picaridin on exposed skin, I also had some Permethrin-treated clothing. |

Nice moderate hike over 6/12 peaks for the Belknap patch. (Completed 12/12 on East Quarry).
Fine conditions. Well marked and maintained trails. Saw four other parties all day. |
