Comments
Comments: Ascended the ski trails to the skier path to the Mt. Tecumseh Trail. Trails are still damp with some patches of snow, but otherwise not too bad.

Patchy ice/monorail started around 3,000 feet on the Mt. Tecumseh Trail, but the patches were very small. A few longer stretches above 3,700 feet. No issue ascending with bareboots, but those who are not steady on their feet may prefer to have rock spikes for descending these stretches (they're only a few dozen feet long each).

At the split, the Mt. Tecumseh Trail (right) has more snow than the Sosman Trail (left). Still a few feet of snow hanging on for the last ascent on Mt. Tecumseh Trail (right). A few minor patches remain on the Sosman Trail (left).

The Sosman Trail to the ski area has some extended stretches of monorail, but they're on flat terrain, so barebooting wasn't an issue.

The monorail and occasional patches from drifts are about all that remains of the snow; no snowpack visible in the woods.

I personally never used light traction and will not carry spikes on Tecumseh again until the fall, unless we get a fluke storm.

Decent partly sunny afternoon, though it was chilly on the ridge (it was actually snowing/sleeting briefly around 5 PM). Did not see any wildflowers in bloom via this route (but trout lily are out on the trail down low).
