Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water levels were surprisingly low. All were easy to rock hop.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There was a down tree between Middle and North Moat, and one by Lucy brook. The blowdowns on South Moat had been taken care of. On one of North Moats south shoulders, and at summit, it was not clear where the trail was. Some blazing would be helpful in sections, as they are wearing off.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Some gnats were starting to come out, as well as a few large deer flies. Not enough to bother you yet!

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day for a hike!. I went from the south, north to West Side road. Going up South Moat was mostly dry until the upper elevation ledges. There were some small streams running down the rocks that made the ledges slippery. The trail was in good shape until you get back into the woods on the north side of Middle Moat. Here, there was a lot of running water and a little bit of mud. After that, there was spotty mud, but nothing difficult to navigate. There were a couple sections coming down North Moat that had wet and slippery rock, but mostly it was a dry trail. North Moat is quite steep, it at least felt a lot steeper than when I did it 10 years ago. Diana's Baths is really nice right now because, like Arethusa falls, not many people are there yet, so there is much more space to enjoy the falls. Traversing the Moat's is mostly quiet. South Moat was the busiest, but that was only about 10 - 15 people. Met only one person between Middle and North Moat, and only about four people on North Moat. Diana's Baths were also a bit meager which was a little disappointing, but Lucy Brook is still very pretty. Please see my post for a more detailed trail description.
