|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossing of Downes Brook wasn't difficult on rocks. Crossed just upstream of pathway on ascent and downstream of the trail on descent. Many rocks to use for the crossing. Some rocks may be submerged. This crossing can be difficult in high water in which case a forest road from the Kancamagus Highway can be used to avoid the crossing but it may potentially have ticks. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail in good condition with frequent yellow blazes. Cut a couple of obstructing fallen tree branches that were obstructing the path. There remains trees crossing the trail near the surface that are easy to step over. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Fine for dogs |
|
 | Bugs: |
A few near the brook |

 | Comments: |
Only the second time I have hiked Mt Potash. The ledges on approach to the summit could be challenging if wet or icy. Good views from the ledges and the summit including Mt Washington.
The only other hikers were two young guys from Pittsburgh PA.
