Happy Mothers Day!
A FINE day in the forest, for sure! "No spikes nation" today! Up via the ladder route. Noted trout lillies, trilliums, wild oats, and one new flower I don't know the name of. Trail from Willey to Field is in fine and a rock solid monorail. Same can be said from Field to Tom. Some bare patches, but pleasant conditions persisted along Tom spur. The trees have seemingly grown a lot in the last month, and a cairn has appeared! As mentioned prior, you could have worn spikes but Ms. Mix-a-lot and I desired a moderate level of danger - and we found it - without spikes. Delightful! We whacked into Crawford Brook above the cascade loop junction and found some fine falls, flowing quite lovely. Pearl and Beecher where flowing nicely too. A fine day for a trio of first round peaks for a few new friends! |
