Comments
Comments: Bareboot conditions until about 1/2 mile before the switchbacks. Used spikes until the summit, but due to the afternoon warmth, the snow was slushy and I was still slipping from time to time. Monorail is stable in some spots and unstable in others, especially around water crossings. There were a lot of them of varying degrees but they were all able to cross by rock hopping. Before spikes were needed, the trail was muddy in some places and dry in others. Parts of the trail had running water going down, so the rocks became somewhat slippery.
