 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked on Old Antrim Road at small lot for two cars after 0.5 miles in. Another small "lot," turn around area, where the trail begins at 0.9 miles for maybe 3-4 cars. Road is much improved and less rugged as Guide suggests. |

Finally made it to this loop hike in the Pierce Wildlife and Forest Reservation, a Forest Society property. This was a very pleasant hike through a beautiful forest with Bacon Ledge and Trout Pond being the highlights. Bacon Ledge has a nice little view over Island Pond, right near Mill Village (Stoddard, NH). Deep into the preserve you come to secluded Trout Pond which is tranquil and beautiful. Doing the loop requires hiking out on a nice woods road, and then road walk back on Shedd Hill Road and Old Antrim Road. Nice choice for quiet, seclusion, solitude, and a path less traveled. |
