Comments
Comments: The main update from previous reports is an alarming amount of new blowdown on Castle Mountain, especially the southwest side coming up from the West peak. This slowed me down quite a bit as in places, the majority of mature trees are down. On the way up, I followed ridges, but to return, I dropped north off of Castle to slab (went and summited Notch too) on the north side of the long northwest ridge before dropping down into the drainage. This was much better than fighting the blowdown.

Significant old snow started around 3000 feet. Snowshoes were a must for most of the hike.
