Comments
Comments: Bare booted to a point just uphill of the fork in the Webster-Jackson trail. Thereafter used microspikes to the summit. The summit ledges were dry. Muddy sections on the lower portion of the trail. There are rocks and roots that can be used to avoid the worst of the muck. Snowpack was about two feet in depth in some places based on the postholes aside the monorail. I ended up carrying the snowshoes since the track was solid.
Met one couple from Merrimack NH otherwise I saw no other hikers except the crowd visiting Elephant Head.
Great views of the Dry River Valley and the Presidential Range under a high cloud ceiling. Gray Jay at the summit.
