The hiker parking lot was full at 9 AM. There was still space inside the gate of the Castle in the Clouds land where they're currently allowing hikers to park too. Note sure when they close the gate. |

Non-biting black flies. There were reports of ticks, but I didn't see any personally. |

As mentioned on the LRCT site the Shannon Brook trail is still closed between Shannon Pond and the connector to Turtleback mountain trail. Not likely to reopen soon. Not a big loss.
The only snow seen was in small patches off trail above 2000'. Otherwise, almost Summer conditions except for no leaves on the trees. |
