Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing to worry about.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Overall great work BRATTS! Reed Road Trail could use brushing in the first half mile. Dave Roberts Quarry Trail has some faded blazes that lead to brief confusion. This is a "sporty" trail too. A sign at the junction of DRQT and Belknap Range Trail would be nice, although if you are looking north for white blazes in the right area you should find them.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: One well-behaved Corgi minding his own business and keeping track of his two-legged friend was sighted.
Bugs
Bugs: Two ticks found crawling on pants at end of hike- yuck!

Comments
Comments: This was a really fun loop with a lot of different things to see. The wind wasn't that serious after all. The Belknap Range Hiking Trails Map from Lakes Region Conservation Trust was a big help, with trails color coded to match blazing. Sloppy spots were no big deal with waterproof boots. The thin layer of ice and frost crystals in the morning were gone in the afternoon; a few thicker ice patches remain. None of these require spikes and are avoidable.
