| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
This small section of Kinsman Ridge Trail is in pretty good shape aside from the spring puddles and general wetness. Bog bridges +/- .4 miles up are still useful but some are rotted and/or submerged. AFAIK Dilly Trail is abandoned - at least it looks that way. |

Post Moosilauke hike to check out Dilly Cliff as I had not been up there since the fire a few years ago. This section of KRT is pretty stiff: I was thinking how I would not like to be a thru staying at Beaver Brook Shelter and getting whacked with this climb early the next morning. Trail is mostly wet with slippery rocks so attention to footing is required. Dilly Trail looks to be abandoned and although the junction sign is long gone the blazes can still be followed. I almost missed the small spur to the cliff - but you can see the cliff from the trail if you are looking. The S/SE view can still be had but the cliff itself is charred and is becoming a bit grown in along with a bunch of fallen trees behind it. I wanted to revisit it for nostalgia reasons and now that I have I don't see myself visiting it again: some things in life are better left as a memory. |
