Parked on Gilman Valley Road opposite the bridge to the ATV road that leads all the way up to the cell tower and old Mount Whittier ski lift building. Lots of pullouts. |

Workers there warned us of tics but we luckily did not pick up any. We did make sure to stay on the road. |

Road varies from hard packed dirt to gravel which can be like walking on scree especially in the steeper sections. Started out moderate then became pretty steep with only a few sections where it moderated for a bit. Near the top it flattens out and even went downhill slightly on the way to the cell tower. Just to the right above the cell tower is the old lift station. You can follow the old cables with your eyes and see all the way down to where they used to come from behind McDonald's at the junction of Routes 16 and 25 in Ossipee. Views up here were awesome especially on the way back down the road to our car. |
