2 blowdowns on Rollings Trail. We noticed freshly cleaned out waterbars on Blueberry Ledge Trail - good job! |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Great conditions for pups, though some will not be comfortable on the steepest vertical ledge on Blueberry Ledge Tr. Eva does fine on that vertical section. Very dry on Blueberry Ledge Tr, so good to bring water. Plenty of water on Dicey's Mill Trail. Eva loved finding snow patches and took full advantage to roll and cool off. |

| Comments: |
We barebooted to the top of Blueberry Ledge Trail ledges. Mostly dry trail but a few icy monorail sections remain. Wondered a couple times if we'd have to put on spikes but never did. Put on spikes at the south summit and kept them on all the way to Passaconaway summit and back down to Rollins Trail junction. Spikes were adequate for all the Rollins Trail, at the moment, as snow/monorail remained firm. We did not posthole, trailbed firm enough. Only significant water crossing over a branch of the Wonalancet River was easy to rock hop, and the log crossing is another option. Great day in the Sandwich Range with Dick and Eva. Only saw 4 other hikers all day, plus a drone/drone operator at the south summit. |
