Comments
Comments: Decided to give the ski trails one last hurrah this evening. I put my snowshoes on at the bottom and took the Lower, Middle & Upper Catapult trails to the summit station and then the foot path to the Wildcat D lookout. To my surprise I was able to keep snowshoes on all the way up! There were just two 10-15 yard sections that were bare but I kept the 'shoes on. Took them off for the summit pitch which was mixed bare rock & snow. Came down Upper & Middle Catapult then decided to come down Wild Kitten for a break. There were 100 yard snow fields followed by 30-50 yard bare patches so I kept taking snowshoes on & off. Mostly granular corn mixed with mashed potatoes and ski conditions are actually not bad; a skier can make it almost all the way from top to bottom using the 3 Catapult trails. That will change soon!
