Signage good, kiosk as well. Thank you. There is a blowdown shortly after the stream crossings that is covering the trail with its many branches. Definitely NOT a step over; so there is a small herd path forming around it. |

We're back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So wonderful to hike up north again. Lower section of trail is in the deciduous trees, so no monorail, very little ice; just a couple of very swollen streams. Fortunately, they were not difficult to cross. Once you ascend into the evergreen section, there is a low, stable monorail for the most part. Some sections (which had a little more sun exposure) were extremely slushy and portions of the trail were streams. Almost impossible not to get wet feet. But worth every step. View from Willard never gets old and even on windy days you can find protected spots without sacrificing views. |
