Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Cohos Trail Association has Big Brook Bridge on the list of major projects for the CTA to tackle. No trouble using it at this time. I'm hoping to improve some of the bog bridges that need attention this season. Apologies for some of the rotten baseboards. We'll get to 'em! Please let me know if you find any major issues.

Bugs
Bugs: No issues, but they are waking up!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Gray scarf, blue hat, red socks (gloves?). Also a Toyota car key which has been there for many months. I have all of these things. Let me know if you're missing any of these splendid items.

Comments
Comments: Trail maintainer here, reporting after the first big walk through as winter fades away. FitR is cleared of blowdowns and widowmakers. The Moose Alley spur trail at mile marker 232 that gets you to the junction of FitR and Moose Alley is also clear. FitR is a low-lying trail that gets very close to the Connecticut River in spots. At this time of year, it's wet in there--over your boots in places. A bit of moderate flooding right now due to high water levels, plus there's still some snow melt creating little pools here and there. Probably not the best time to take the kiddos on an adventure. I'd wait until May. If you just have to visit the falls right this very minute (can't blame you), I recommend coming in from the southern end via the mile marker 232 Moose Alley spur. It's still muddy, but you'll avoid the flooded section and most of the remaining snow/ice that way. Follow the orange blazes down the hill to the well-signed junction, hang a left, cross the bridge, and follow the yellow blazes north about 0.5 to the falls area. The river is rippin' right now--pretty impressive to see and hear.
