Nice spring hike of the Kinsmans. Dry trail to start as well as a few muddy spots. Micros went on about 1/8 of a mile beyond Bald Peak Spur intersection and stayed on until returning to this point. There is an icy monorail as well as water flowing down the trail in a few spots at upper elevations.Kinsman Ridge Trail has a varying amount of slushy mashed potato like monorail with a solid base overall. Parts of the trail are more like a trough. Snowpack varies from very little to approximately 2ft.Trail between N/S Kinsman was getting very soft on return. Snowshoes along for the ride today. I crossed paths with about 20 other hikers enjoying the day.573/576 |
