Comments
Comments: Beautiful hike of the Hancock's. Originally planned for the Twins but with heavy cloud cover and drizzle from the weather machine I went for these peaks. Fairly solid monorail starts in the first 1/4 mile and is mostly consistent with a few bare spots. I used micros until the ascent to the North Peak and donned the snowshoes mostly for the help of the televators. These stayed on until a 1/4 mile from the trailhead. Trail shallow layer of slushy mashed potatoes but very minor. Spotty soft blue ice ascending North and descending South. This is only the second time coming down South with snow on the ground that I haven't accidentally slipped and slid down. If these peaks are needed for April this is definitely the week. Although monorail is solid highly recommend snowshoes on the pack.It was nice to meet a fellow Gridder and chat briefly.565/576
