Comments
Comments: What a day! Bare booted up Zealand Road. Some bare ground and snow/ice covered. A variety of spikes on and a change of footwear at Zealand trailhead. It started to snow just below Zeacliff and snowed until below Bondcliff. A stiff breeze at elevation all day, sideways snow. Good news, no rain or sleet. Measured wind at 31 MPH on Bond. Today was a day of not lingering long from Zealand Hut until end of Bondcliff Trail at Wilderness Trail. Though we could have done some lingering along the last 5 miles, we were not interested. Consistent snow from Zealand Hut to the Guyout Tree Farm when breaking out of trees. Rocks, snow, and ice from there to just before the Guyout campsite spur trail. More snow out to West Bond and up to Bond. More rocks, ice, and scattered snow from below Bond to past Bondcliff. Fairly consistent snow down Bondcliff until the water crossings. Removed spikes about 2 miles from Wilderness trail. Bare booted to the bridge at Lincoln Woods. That bridge is always a most welcome site.
