Comments
Comments: A FINE day in the forest! Pleasant trail conditions along the entire journey. I wore spikes to the last crossing, and after that I put on snowshoes until I returned back to the A-Z/Avalon junctions. Rock solid in the morning, slushy delight on the way out. Absolutely stunner of a day, the evergreens resembled beautiful chandeliers with all their icicles. Trail bed is wide enough for snowshoes through all trails listed, aside from the minor sections on the way to Willey from Field where it's narrow even in the summer. Great views of the Presi's, Pemi, Carrigain and many other familiar friends. Only noted about ten folks this morning. Got the Cascade Loop trail, finally - only took ten times going past it. As Cone Demon would say, never leave a 0.1! Good ol' Tom was #400 today.
