Comments: Didn't see anyone on Hi Cannon. I forgot about the ladder but it was snow and ice free and Hank didn’t seem fazed at all. Views from the Rim trail were superb and it was very sheltered from the wind. We lounged the early afternoon away and chatted with friendly hikers. Took Kinsman Ridge down and forgot about the sketchy ice floes. It was 1/8 mile of f*ck! And slow slow to Hank. We stopped at Lonesome Lake for more snacks and socializing and headed down. We came across two hikers, one of whom lent his microspikes to a girl descending in sneakers. Nice guy, good karma. All in all a supermday out. The trails were well packed, some good bite with traction, some softening snow but just a couple inches. A few inches of new snow over the trees was a spring treat.
