Comments
Comments: Getting up to Pierce did not need snowshoes -- could probably have bare-booted but we used spikes. We went up to Eisenhower up the Mt Eisenhower Loop trail and the conditions were so perfect we decided to continue on to Franklin. We wore snowshoes after Pierce and used them all the way past Ike and on to Franklin. The path out to Franklin was not well traveled and with snow drifts (and no/hidden cairns) it was very hard to find. Followed GPS map back and could see the path was unused. We decided to follow the GPS around Eisenhower along Crawford Path and that was not broken at all. Slope-y, cramped, and unbroken -- it was a lot of fun and had great walking views! Snowshoes needed there.
