Date of Hike: Saturday, April 3, 2021
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Hard to spot small parking area off North Shore Rd. in New Durham, 0.6 mi. east of the end of Merrymeeting Rd. I drove by this twice before I noticed it. Some rutted mud getting in but not too bad. Parking is very tight, and trees growing in the parking area itself limit the room. A sign ("Mt. Molly Trail", not visible from the road) marks the start of the trail.

Comments
Comments: This was a direct route up to Molly, shorter and steeper than the approach from Chesley Rd. This whole route is on private land, but the landowners allow public access as long as everyone keeps it cool. The trail is clearly well-used and was in fantastic shape. Several other unmarked paths branch off along the way, but just follow the clear blazes and you'll be good.

Excellent views from the near-summit ledges with great looks out to the Moose Mtns. down to to Merrymeeting Lake, and over to Birch Ridge Community Forest. SELT is raising funds to purchase Molly, so perhaps soon we will see official trails here.
