Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Five blowdowns on 19 MB - 3 before Carter Dome Junction 2 8-10 inches and one about 16 inches, 2 after junction 1 about 8 inches one about 4 inches; one 8 incher on Carter Dome trail below water crossing - all blowdowns are easy stepovers; Carter Moriah from Hight down to Zeta - a few places where vegetation is encroaching on trail and could use some brushing.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw several on the trail today - no water between hut/ponds over summits down to water crossings on Carter Dome other than one small trickle in the lower switchbacks on Carter DOme so plan on bringing some water
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitoes and other smaller insects harrased me on way up 19 MB to Hut - flies on top of Carter Dome and harassing some hikers in Zeta Pass but otherwise none up high but may have been to afternoon temps; mosquitoes reappeared when coming down on Carter Dome beginning at water crossings and followed me all the way to the trailhead.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: found blue bandanna on 19 MB - left at trailhead at pay station

Comments
Comments: Another great day in the Whites - a loop over Carter Dome and Hight with nice sunny skies. A fair amount of hikers out today along the trail. Trails in great shape - dry other than a few minor patches of mud/water along the way but not really a problem. First time in Carter Notch which was amazing.
